Extravagant Perfection – Blancpain Newest Spécialités Tourbillon Diamants

I have reviewed a number of diamond watches, as they form a crucial part of the Haute Joaillerie watch category. They emblems shine, luxury and noble glow. However, I have never such a diamond-studded watch that everywhere on the case has been decorated with dazzling diamonds. The luxury watchmaker Blancpain enriches my horizon by proudly presenting its newest Spécialités Tourbillon Diamants, a watch featuring the extreme diamond theme.

This novelty from Blancpain is a diamond men’s watch, a sheer diamond timepiece that certainly runs counter to the trend of lower-priced offerings. As seen in the picture, the three-piece case in white gold, with a diameter of 40mm, has its body all over paved with more than 20 karats of shimmering stones. Please look at the dial, my god, who can tell me what the complex pattern actually is? Centrally mounted on the dial are two hands set with diamonds. Yes, you read right, it is diamond hands that the exquisite watch employs. The well-cut bezel, as well as the lugs, the crown and the sides, is inlaid with countless brilliant-cut diamonds.

The Price Tag

Through the transparent case back, which also paved with diamonds, we are allowed to admire the automatic caliber 25A tourbillon movement. Composed of 238 parts with 29 jewels, the movement features an adorable 168-hour power reserve. I haven’t found any markers to indicate the time, except the two diamond hands. But such a splendid watch is born for collection, not for time display, with an astronomical price of $1,342,700. Recently, the legendary NBA star Shaq O’Neal has presented a nice white Rolls-Royce Phantom as the birthday gift for his teammate Lebron James. So I wonder whether the generous ShaQ would have changed the gift if he had known this Blancpain Spécialités Tourbillon Diamants.
